Week 16 Weigh In

I am 16 weeks into Weight Watchers and have been doing alright. These past couple of weeks have been the hardest.
I gained 1.4 last week and the week before I was sick so I didn’t get a chance to weigh in
I find it pretty strange that I was quite sad about missing a weigh in! It would seem I LIKE seeing the weight changes now. Yes, some are good and some are bad. Even when it’s bad, I then have to think about the past week and make changes.
This week, was an alright week. I lost .8, which brings my total weight loss to 13.4. I’m a bit behind in my goal. I would like to be losing a least a pound a week, yet I know that gains are bound to happen. I’d like to be down at least 30 pounds by my birthday (June 28th), which means at LEAST a pound a week and NO gains for the next 17 weeks. Sigh.
I can do this! I am in control of what I eat and need to clean my eating habits up a bit more.
Gatorland, Will You Marry Me?
Ok, that’s not quite how it went.
But I did get to be apart of a special moment for two of my really good friends at Gatorland!
I received a phone call late Saturday (2/27) afternoon, “I need your help.”
Honestly, the first thing that went through my mind was, “Oh good lord! What happened?!”
Thankfully, Tommy quickly told me that he needed to think of a place to propose to Ashley.
So, my brain started going crazy.. “What about the Sanford Zoo?” That got shot down.
Ok, fine! “The fair is in town. You could get her a funnel cake and put the ring on top and hope she doesn’t eat the ring!!” A laugh and a no, combined.
As Tommy said something to the fact of, “Just think about it and let me know. I’d like to do it next weekend.” I blurted out “Ok sure. We’ll think of some places.” (And here is what could have gotten me in trouble….) “Oh, by the way, we have tickets to Gatorland. The Florida resident discount ends soon, we should all go.”
There was silence. Then came, “Maybe I’ll ask her there.”
After some research, I found out the Florida resident discount ended the NEXT day. A phone call back, he agreed that Sunday would work. And then I waited, and waited, and waited to call and plant the seed to Ashley.
After that was complete, 10AM at Gatorland was decided upon.
—
On Sunday, we got there earlier than Tommy and Ashley so I could ask some of the Gatorland employees where a good stop for a proposal could happen. As much as I was expecting to get laughed at, they all told me that someone had gotten married there.
(Incase you’re wondering where you should pop the question to your special lady at Gatorland, I was told the tower or during a show.)
Tommy and Ashley showed up LATE and Jeff was convinced that Tommy was getting cold feet or he was stalling to get there.
Either way, that wasn’t the case and they finally got there and we went in and watched some gators. Most of them were being gators and just laying around. However, we did see the Jumparoo and those gators sure do love some chicken.
I had to pull Tommy aside and try to figure out WHERE he was going to ask so I could be ready with the camera.
Our master plan:
Me: “Hey, will you take a picture of Jeff and I?”
T or A: “Sure.”
After our picture:
Tommy: “Can you take one of us?”
Me: “Sure.”
Then Tommy made it AWKWARD (in his own party words) by doing some stretch and making a speech about surprises (she knew what he was talking about, so that’s all that mattered) and then pulled out the ring.
I was waiting for him to get down on one knee. But no. He failed me. However, it was very sweet and I’m glad we were there to be able to get some pictures and video. And now I can not WAIT to take some real engagement pictures of them!!
Stuff the Magic Dragon
No seriously.. sing the title. It’s fun.
During the Orlando Magic vs. Detroit Pistons game on February 17, I spotted Stuff sitting near/on some girl and then walk away with her purse. Stuff… were you flirting/trying to get a girlfriend??
After Orlando WON the game, Stuff was then found strutting across the court. That is one busy dragon.
We were lucky enough to be given some tickets for the game (thanks Justin!!) and we found out friends of ours were going as well. We all went together and then split ways to find our seats. Us up top, them about 15 rows from the court.
He is 6′8 (yep, I ask him all the time) and could not get comfortable in his seat at all. There was no leg room what so ever. So they moved them up a bit to where there was WAY more leg room and we got to sit in their kick ass seats. Seriously, awesome.
We’ve only had seats down there once before and THAT is the way to watch a game. You may get yelled at for taking pictures with an SLR, but it is so worth it. Just being able to soak in the game and seeing the players up close fist bump (terrorist fist bump style). So now.. some pictures from our closer seats.
Celebration at The Tavern
Thursday, February 25 was the very first tweetup at the Celebration Town Tavern. Beer enthusiasts got together to enjoy some REAL craft beer and to talk.
As many times as Jeff and I have been to Celebration for lunch or dinner, we have walked by the Celebration Town Tavern. There isn’t any reason why. We just didn’t.
Well, we most definitely should have gone before!
99 Bottles of Beer On The Wall.. really?! How have we missed this!
We met some great people, enjoyed some Orange Blossom Pilsner and some new Toasted Coconut Porter! So good!!
There is going to be a tweetup every month. Beer and food pairing and beer and music.
This month we all got a flight of beer: OBP, Oberon Ale, Hazed and Infused and Brooklyn Brown Ale.
Can’t wait for the next one!
Some beer people you should follow: @towntavern, @nighthops, @kwidrick, @OBPBuzz, @Whineaux, @icejunkies
To see the full menu and events going on please visit Celebration Town Tavern.

I couldn’t even tell you how many doctor’s visits and surgeries she’s had, but she always kept a positive outlook about it. She is a fabulous quilter and made me a very special quilt a few years ago. No matter what is going on in her life, she always makes time to do things for others. Becci is a very strong woman and has a very supportive family. Seeing as though there isn’t much that I can do for her.. Becci, this is for you!!
I need your help and in return you’ll get a really cool gift! <I think it’s cool at least>
How about a print from peglegpug.com or peakarts.com
For a donation up to $9, you’ll get a 5×7 print
For donating $10 to $24, 8×10
For donating $25 and up, you’ll get a print that’s 13×19

So please, donate away. ANYTHING would be wonderful!! We need this! We need to get cancer under control!
If everyone that followed me on twitter donated 50 cents, I’d be well over $500, however I know that is not going to happen, but YOU can help me to closer to my goal.. 50 cents at a time!

Taking It Easy, Well, Easier At Least

After my post on not wanting to look like Kevin Federline, I went out set to do a 2 mile walk/jog.
After my knees started acting up and asthma kicked in, I decided that I’m going to take a break and work my way up on running. I’m going to continue pushing myself of course, but I need to get back into taking a walk on my lunch break and focus on eating healthier. Take some weight off and help my lungs.
As for my Weight Watchers this past week, I missed this past weigh in due to being sick and then not getting there when it was open. Yes, I weighed myself at home, but I wasn’t happy with the numbers. After my last “official” weigh in I had 8 pounds to lose to get to my 10% goal. Come on Kelly! You can do it!!
While I’m exercising, I have been using a Nike+ wristband for a year or so and love it. I love being able to track walks and see how fast I’m (not) going. Being able to track everything is beneficial to me, trust me. It keeps me motivated. And Nike started this “level” thing, so every x amount of miles you go up to a new color level. Think of it as having a star chart for an adult. Neat, right?
Last Christmas (2008) Jeff got me a stationary bike holder thing and my tire went flat and I haven’t been able to use it for quite a few months. So that was a “to do” for this weekend. However, after the lazy, but awesome day we had yesterday, will it get done?
Hope you had a successful weekend! And here’s to a kick ass week (minus the Monday)
My New Goal
Who would have thought that Kevin Federline would be part of my next goal?
Not I.
As I sit here watching Celebrity Fit Club, I just realized how much K-Fed looks like a pregnant woman. Honestly he does.
I have been in that place. I have been asked if I was pregnant and the worst part is, it was about 20 pounds ago. I can only imagine what people think now.
So thank you K-Fed for the Sunday morning wake up call.
I do NOT want to be K-Walk. And most definitely not a pregnant looking K-Walk.
For those not “in the know”, Kevin Federline (according to Wikipedia): “is an American dancer, rapper, fashion model, and actor. Previously engaged to actress Shar Jackson, Federline is best known for his two-year marriage to pop singer Britney Spears. The couple’s divorce was highly publicized, followed by an ongoing legal battle for the custody of their two sons, Sean Preston Federline and Jayden James Federline.”
Walking The Day Away

Walking may be one of my (somewhat new) favorite past times. Once I get out there and get going, I’m good. I feel good.
This morning I got up a bit early (something that has been happening in our household a lot these past couple of weeks) and decided to go for a walk/jog. Well, I looked at the temperature and decided, nope, not going out there.
I most certainly could have! The weather was nice and now I’m mad that I didn’t go. But I did get on the Gazelle and walked for a mile.
During that, I thought “Hey, I might as well walk to work.” Save some gas. Get another mile in. And since I can’t walk to work tomorrow (unless I want to leave… well, NOW *10AM* and walk 40 miles one way, not going to happen), I figured I’d get in all the walking I can today.
Walking is good for so many things. Yes, it can help your weight loss, but it also can help with your cholesterol, heart, arthritis, sleep.
One of the main things I’m trying to work on lately is my ’stress’ – an unnessary evil. I don’t like that word and neither does my back, but sadly, I get stressed. And it comes on very easily. Having a lot on my plate (<– not a fat joke!) and not being able to get everything done is stressful to me. I get into a mode and then I just start freaking out (and Jeff gets the main brunt of it. Sorry dear!) Walking can help control stress. You get outside and it just seems that your brain clears and you start focusing on your breathing and getting that walk in.
Another big reason I like walking, I feel WAY more energetic. You would think “Oh get done with a walk and I’d just want to crash on the couch.” Nope. When I get home I feel like I could conquer the world *not that I ever do, but I FEEL like I could!*
So seriously, get out there an walk! Take a walk around the neighborhood, walk around your house a few times, take that puppy out, just get out there! You’ll feel better!! And then I can stop yelling at you
Starting The Weekend Off Right

Here’s how my weekend started: sat in traffic for over a hour and then when I pulled into my community, I got trapped by two huge birds in the middle of the road. So weird. Seriously.. a parked car on one side and two birds on the other. LOOK!
I decided to turn my weekend around before it really got into effect.
I went on a nice little mile walk/jog. Completed it in around 15 minutes, which is good for me. When I started out I wanted to go for two miles, but it was already 6:30 PM and it was dark and I’m just not a girl that likes to walk in the dark. Nope, no way.
As for tomorrow, I have some things lined up to do around the house, work wise. I’d really like to get out and hang with my friends since Jeff and I haven’t really seen ANY of them lately. Makes me sad.
Now, I’ve got to figure out what is going on with dinner.
“Jeff, please tell me you have some ideas?!”
Another Week Down

Last week I has having “girl problems” (read: “eww gross!”) and I had gained 2.6 pounds.
After my 2 mile walk/jog yesterday I was feeling pretty good.
And you know what? I had reason to feel good!
I lost 3.8 pounds this week, bringing it to a grand total of 14 pounds lost since mid November! Woohoo! I can feel it in my clothes from time to time. I bought a skirt from Ann Taylor around Thanksgiving that was a size smaller than normal and guess who is wearing THAT skirt right now? Oh yea..
That would be… ME!
A few weeks ago there were notes left all over the house for me when Jeff went to L.A., including one of the fridge stating “You’re doing so great on Weight Watchers! I’m so proud of you!” I JUST took it down on Sunday, but let me tell you what.. every time I opened that fridge, I saw that note. Grabbed some water and not a snack. It makes life better when you have a great support team.
Soon I’ll be under 200 pounds and then it’s a whole new game! I haven’t been under 200 in quite a few years. Sad part is, I remember being close to 200 back then and telling myself “No way will you get to 200. Take care of it now.” Yeah, well we see how well that went.
So here I am, losing weight and feeling better. I can’t wait to HAVE to go shopping to buy smaller jeans. That may be soon since most of my jeans are feeling big, thankfully I didn’t get rid of my smaller jeans and I can not WWWAAAAIIIITTT to get back into my high school jeans – those size 8 jeans are waiting for me. Seriously, they are in the spare closest screaming my name.
