Gatorland, Will You Marry Me?
Ok, that’s not quite how it went.
But I did get to be apart of a special moment for two of my really good friends at Gatorland!
I received a phone call late Saturday (2/27) afternoon, “I need your help.”
Honestly, the first thing that went through my mind was, “Oh good lord! What happened?!”
Thankfully, Tommy quickly told me that he needed to think of a place to propose to Ashley.
So, my brain started going crazy.. “What about the Sanford Zoo?” That got shot down.
Ok, fine! “The fair is in town. You could get her a funnel cake and put the ring on top and hope she doesn’t eat the ring!!” A laugh and a no, combined.
As Tommy said something to the fact of, “Just think about it and let me know. I’d like to do it next weekend.” I blurted out “Ok sure. We’ll think of some places.” (And here is what could have gotten me in trouble….) “Oh, by the way, we have tickets to Gatorland. The Florida resident discount ends soon, we should all go.”
There was silence. Then came, “Maybe I’ll ask her there.”
After some research, I found out the Florida resident discount ended the NEXT day. A phone call back, he agreed that Sunday would work. And then I waited, and waited, and waited to call and plant the seed to Ashley.
After that was complete, 10AM at Gatorland was decided upon.

On Sunday, we got there earlier than Tommy and Ashley so I could ask some of the Gatorland employees where a good stop for a proposal could happen. As much as I was expecting to get laughed at, they all told me that someone had gotten married there.
(Incase you’re wondering where you should pop the question to your special lady at Gatorland, I was told the tower or during a show.)
Tommy and Ashley showed up LATE and Jeff was convinced that Tommy was getting cold feet or he was stalling to get there.
Either way, that wasn’t the case and they finally got there and we went in and watched some gators. Most of them were being gators and just laying around. However, we did see the Jumparoo and those gators sure do love some chicken.
I had to pull Tommy aside and try to figure out WHERE he was going to ask so I could be ready with the camera.
Our master plan:
Me: “Hey, will you take a picture of Jeff and I?”
T or A: “Sure.”
After our picture:
Tommy: “Can you take one of us?”
Me: “Sure.”
Then Tommy made it AWKWARD (in his own party words) by doing some stretch and making a speech about surprises (she knew what he was talking about, so that’s all that mattered) and then pulled out the ring.
I was waiting for him to get down on one knee. But no. He failed me. However, it was very sweet and I’m glad we were there to be able to get some pictures and video. And now I can not WAIT to take some real engagement pictures of them!! 
Celebration at The Tavern
Thursday, February 25 was the very first tweetup at the Celebration Town Tavern. Beer enthusiasts got together to enjoy some REAL craft beer and to talk.
As many times as Jeff and I have been to Celebration for lunch or dinner, we have walked by the Celebration Town Tavern. There isn’t any reason why. We just didn’t.
Well, we most definitely should have gone before!
99 Bottles of Beer On The Wall.. really?! How have we missed this!
We met some great people, enjoyed some Orange Blossom Pilsner and some new Toasted Coconut Porter! So good!!
There is going to be a tweetup every month. Beer and food pairing and beer and music.
This month we all got a flight of beer: OBP, Oberon Ale, Hazed and Infused and Brooklyn Brown Ale.
Can’t wait for the next one!

My New Goal
Who would have thought that Kevin Federline would be part of my next goal?
Not I.
As I sit here watching Celebrity Fit Club, I just realized how much K-Fed looks like a pregnant woman. Honestly he does. 
I have been in that place. I have been asked if I was pregnant and the worst part is, it was about 20 pounds ago. I can only imagine what people think now.
So thank you K-Fed for the Sunday morning wake up call.
I do NOT want to be K-Walk. And most definitely not a pregnant looking K-Walk.
For those not “in the know”, Kevin Federline (according to Wikipedia): “is an American dancer, rapper, fashion model, and actor. Previously engaged to actress Shar Jackson, Federline is best known for his two-year marriage to pop singer Britney Spears. The couple’s divorce was highly publicized, followed by an ongoing legal battle for the custody of their two sons, Sean Preston Federline and Jayden James Federline.”
6 Years Ago
What seems to be 6, very long, years ago on January 13, 2004, was the day I laughed in Jeff’s face.
Let’s go back a couple of months before that..
I was at Full Sail. And so was he. Amazingly enough, we met because I needed a flashlight for one of my first classes (because Full Sail apparently can’t afford flashlights) and he had one. I went to his place to get his.. a PURPLE flashlight, none the less. And the flashlight is in our house somewhere to this day.
We began hanging out right before Thanksgiving 2003. I invited him to come to my family Thanksgiving since all of his family was in Kentucky and he said.. no .. he wanted to stay and spend time out of school with his friends. Which is fine. Him and I had no obligations to each other. We were honestly just friends. Before I left to go to Ocala, he told me to come over because he had something for me. That something was a couple of burned CDs. At the time, there was always commercials for the Red Hot Chili Peppers greatest hits CD all over TV and he decided that I needed it since I would mention it.
Then came Christmas and New Year’s. He went home to see his family and I went to see mine. He called me at midnight, Florida time, to wish me a happy new year, but when I called him back at HIS New Year’s an hour later, he was passed out. Surprise surprise!
I found out later that Jeff’s mom was wondering who I was since we were always on the phone. And I can honestly say, we were still JUST friends.
Even though we lived a mile from each other, we were ALWAYS on the phone. He would get home from school and call me, and vice versa. One of my all time favorite memories from back then was when we were on the phone and Family Guy would come on. He’d wait until after the opening came on to get off the phone and he’d always say “I’ll call you back after the show.” And he always did. RIGHT after the show, as soon as the credits started rolling my phone would ring.
I always made jokes with him about him coming over to my apartment and watching ‘Queer Eye For The Straight Guy’ (this is when that show was huge!). No such luck. Ever. Then, he came over for a movie marathon of sorts. He stayed up ALL night and watched movies. It was great. And it was that night that he kissed me. And when he did.. I laughed. (Sorry dearest!)
I was uncomfortable because… dun dun dun.. it was my first kiss. Weird right? I had never had a boyfriend and I had only gone on a couple of “dates” (it’s hard for me to even call them that because they were just very awkward and strange guys.)
So, it happened. We kissed and I guess that made it “official”. We were always together. He didn’t have a car, so I would go get him and we would just hang out.
Then a little more than two weeks later, life changed. We had THE accident. Even though it majorly damaged his face (not that you can tell now), I wouldn’t change it for the world. It made us who we are today as a couple. And it also made us super strong, together.

Ben Prestage
I may not have done anything too exciting to ring in the 2010, but I did start the first day of 2010 off right.
A friend of mine had just told me about Ben Prestage and sent me a couple of YouTube clips to which I really took a liking to his sound. Thankfully, I found out that he was going to be doing a set at Will’s Pub in Orlando, FL on January 1st and I made sure that I was going to be there.
The place was packed! I hadn’t been to Will’s Pub in a while and I don’t know what that max capacity for the stage room was, but people were having a hard time walking through to get to the bar. That’s when you know you’re at a good show! I put together some clips that Jeff shot with my new camera (Canon 7D).

Lend An Ear?
Last night I had the strangest dream and I didn’t remember it until I received an e-mail this morning from work. Weird, right?
Dream/nightmare:
Apparently Jeff and I had a 20 gallon-ish fish tank in the house, on the ground. There wasn’t much water in it and there was only one fish. This fish was part catfish, shark and a plecostomus (algae eater). Emma (our cat) decided to jump in the tank with this fish (by the way, she actually HATES water!) and check it out.
Well, this fish thing decided to take Emma’s ear COMPLETELY off. I saw the top of her skull, which is kind of what happened when Jeff and I had our accident.
The fish then escaped from the tank and made it’s away around the house. I was yelling at Jeff to get it and kill it, but he didn’t want anything to do with it either.
So at this point, I’m walking around the house with a bloody cat in my arms, whom does not want to be held. She wanted to chase after the fish and play with it. It was like her ear missing or the blood didn’t bother her at all.

Who would have thought a Thursday night could be so fun?

Music, beer, dancing, beer, potato pancakes, beer, friends, beer. All of those things together make for an AMAZING time! Almost 20 friends showed up and enjoyed it, so that says something, right?
Lots of food, beer and music was taken in.
To end the night, we bonded via a glass boot. Yes, a BOOT. Two liters of beer was passed around the table.
If you haven’t been, I would suggest you leave your home right now and go to Willow Tree. German food, beer, and music at it’s finest.

Cure For The Run
SomaCow Media and Rock For Hunger teamed up to put on an amazing event. A 0.05k. 164 feet. No, I am not making this up. I honestly had to walk further to get to my car. Seriously!
Over $3,000 dollars was raised to help the homeless in Orlando, FL. Next year, let’s double it!

SweetUp ‘09
Let’s start from the beginning.. there is twitter. On twitter, you make friends (sometimes), and you meet them at tweetups (twitter meetups). Tweetups are normally held at a restaurant or bar where you can mingle and talk with friends and meet new twitter people. To put a spin on things, this will be a SWEETup. A tweetup, but with LOTS of candy and sweets! Get it? Now, read on.
Next tweetup, SWEETup is on Thursday, September 10th. Winter Park Wedding Chapel is kind enough to host this event at their place!
Thanks to Shaan bringing up candy corn, Justin and Daphne continued talking about candy last week, I have decided since so many people on twitter have to like candy, cake, cupcakes, why not get together and look at it and then eat it!
